Babbling Blogs in the Land of Oz

I must admit I have been a little slow at coming around to the idea of blogging, but I am here and I love it!  Has anyone else been trying to figure out just why it has become such a trend?  I look at it kind of like Dorothy on her way to the Emerald City...

If you remember Dorothy was living in Kansas, feeling like her life was ordinary and mundane and she was looking for a place where there was no trouble.  I think all of us have a little bit of Dorothy in us and there are times in our lives where we just need a little escape - even if it is only for a short time.  That is where blogging comes in - it gives us a peek into the lives of others that we probably would not have the chance to experience if it weren't for the wonders of the internet.

Along the way we are able to meet quite a variety of people who travel with us - each one of them bringing something different.  There are times when we just need someone to "pick our brain".    How many times have you realized the old saying, "Two heads are better than one" is really true.  The scarecrow thought he needed a brain, and here in blog land we have the brains and creativity of many to help us along.

The tin man was looking for a heart.  I am constantly encouraged by what big hearts people have, people that I may know only because of a blog connection, but they are so willing to share.  And we can't forget about the cowardly lion who was looking for courage.  Within this community of bloggers I receive courage to try new things and encouragment to keep going!

So I am thankful for my blog friends and all that I learn from them.  As I follow that yellow brick road I hope to meet many more of you along the way.

For some reason this picture always makes me smile!
